At Home for Christmas

This post brought to you by At Home. The content and opinions expressed below are that of Mimosas on the Porch.

Anyone who knows me knows that I am OBSESSED with all things Christmas.  My co-workers at my last job knew that starting on October 1st, a constant stream of Mariah Carey’s Merry Christmas album would be on repeat at my desk until after the new year.  Now that I am at home with my kiddos, my love for the holidays has only intensified and my family should consider themselves lucky we don’t have Christmas decorations up all year long 🙂

One of the many joys of buying a new home is picking out all new holiday decorations.  Our last home was an older bungalow and the color scheme consisted of forest greens, maroons and khakis.  When we built our new home, I wanted our main living spaces to be bright and airy.  I was so excited when October came around and I could start shopping for new Christmas decorations.  Imagine my surprise when I stumbled across an actual Christmas wonderland at At Home. Immediately after walking in, I texted my husband and told him that I was never leaving.  I had found my happy place.

At Home is filled with so many amazing Christmas items for every room in your house.  Everything from shiny ornaments to rustic reindeer and plush greenery fill aisle after aisle.  There is even an At Home Tree for Me lot that has over 100 artificial Christmas Trees to choose from.  I can’t wait to go back with the family to pick out a special tree for the kiddo’s playroom!

After I regained my composure, I knew that I wanted to find some new white and sparkly items for the living room.  At Home Christmas Decor makes it so easy because they have 15 different collections for every decorating style. I headed straight for the Lavish & Luxe collection and the Crystal Chateau collection.  There were so many beautiful things it was so hard to choose! How cute are these white nutcrackers?!

I spent what felt like hours going through each aisle and picking out my favorite items.  I was so excited to get home and unpack all of my Christmas goodies.  I knew that the first space I wanted to tackle was the sideboard in our living room. Here is what our sad little sideboard looked like prior to my trip to At Home.  I almost feel bad for that little Owl.  He has had to share space with a nonexistent orchid and an empty picture frame.

I wasted no time prepping the space for the Christmas wonderland that was about to go down.  I turned on my favorite Christmas pandora station, made a cup of hot cocoa and got to decorating.  My absolute favorite find of the day was this white sequined reindeer ornament.  I hung it in the middle of a wreath that I wrapped in battery powered LED lights.  These are so great because you don’t see any power cord and you can put them anywhere!

I then used these adorable pre-lit houses and the pre-lit “snow” sign to create the cutest holiday vignette on the sideboard.  I added some additional greenery and some candles and in no time at all the whole house started to feel like Christmas.

I can’t wait to go back and pick out items for our dining room! I am totally going to pick up a couple of these cuties for the center of my table. At Home has so many items for every room in your house (inside and out!) and no matter what your holiday style is, there is something for you. Their everyday low costs can help you create a Christmas wonderland of your own!

What is your holiday style?  Do you prefer more of the traditional red and green decor, or do you like the snowy white theme?
