I love beer!  There is nothing better than enjoying a crisp beer on a cool fall day while watching football or sitting on the beach with a ice cold cerveza in hand.  I will be the first to admit that my beer choices have changed dramatically from my college days.  At one point my roommate and I had to shower for weeks with a keg of Miller Lite in the bathtub.  Awesome.  But I am an adult now so I have started to make some adult choices when it comes to beer.  I have “hopped” on the craft beer wagon and I am not getting off…and you should hop on too.

In my quest to learn more about the craft beer world, I reached out to the Executive Director of the New York State Brewers Association, Paul Leone.  Read below to hear his take on craft beer and how you will love craft beer too.

Packing Tips from MJ

When I was in high school and college I had what I considered to be the best job out there.  I worked at Hartmann Luggage in the Sandestin Outlets.  That may seem boring to many, especially for a 16 year old, but I loved it! Many of my friends worked on the beach or sold beers to old men in golf carts, but that wasn’t for me.  Instead, I spent 6 years playing with beautifully constructed leather bags, wallets and train cases.  I loved chatting with families, couples and business travelers as they came in looking for their perfect travel companion.

In my 6 years with the company, I have to say that I learned a lot of tips and tricks when it came to traveling and packing.  Since then I have used those tricks to pack for many trips using only my 22″ carry-on and attachable tote.  My biggest accomplishment to date was packing my husband and I for a week in Hawaii, where he and I both had a wedding, rehearsal dinner and many activities to attend, all in 2 carry-on bags. Read below for my favorite packing tips 🙂

I have to be honest but when I first started hearing about all of these monthly delivery services, I had a hard time buying in.  I tried a couple of them out and couldn’t justify paying the monthly fee based on the items I was getting.  Although over the last few months I have seen monthly subscription services come a long way! Thank goodness because they really are the perfect solution for people like me.  I have a hard time getting out to go shopping and I also like to try new and on-trend items without spending a fortune.

pure barre {review}

Usually my favorite form of working out is excessive shopping or a lovely stroll downtown while simultaneously carrying an IPA.  That was until I came across Pure Barre.  I would occasionally find myself at the gym bored out of my mind walking on the treadmill while watching Dr. Oz tell the world his latest cure for cellulite.  It took everything I had in me to get myself to the gym and I would be over the moon if I could make it there three times a week.  But the second I found myself at Pure Barre for my first class, I knew there was no turning back.  I was hooked.  It hurt so good.  According to Pure Barre’s website: “Pure Barre is a total body workout that lifts your seat, tones your thighs and burns fat in record-breaking time. Utilizing the ballet barre to perform small isometric movements set to fantastic music, Pure Barre is the fastest, most effective, yet safest way to change your body. Students see results in just 10 classes.”
And they are so right.  I schedule my days now so that I can make it to Pure Barre every day and if I miss a class, I feel guilty and find myself doing dips and squats in between work meetings.  It is very low impact and targets specific muscles that we want tight and toned.  The class works quickly through a series of movements and exercises that will have your muscles shaking like crazy.  If you have a Pure Barre in your area, I highly suggest you drag yourself there and try it out.  I know you will be hooked!
