We are finally home from holiday traveling and I am so excited to get back in our routine. The holidays are absolutely amazing and I love spending time with family, but the kids always go a little crazy when we are away for that long. They definitely thrive off of routine and so do we!
One of our main goals for the new year was to find a new single stroller that we could use for travel, nightly walks and family activities. Ever since Brayden had her last open heart surgery, she has been walking a lot more and our large double stroller was becoming way too big to take with us everywhere we went.
I am usually a pretty positive person and I like to find the good in everything. 2018 was no different. Even though there were some difficult times, the year was filled will amazing memories and experiences. My little family traveled more than we have in years and we finally found a place of peace with my daughter’s health.
For so many years I felt like our life was put on hold. We were always so concerned about my daughter and her lack of energy or uncertainty that we were afraid to travel or commit to too much. After her last open heart surgery in October of 2017, we felt a weight lifted off of us. Even though she still has a long road ahead of her, a lot of her energy was restored and our constant need to monitor her numbers was taken away. This provided a lot of peace for us and I felt like for the first time, we were able to live.
As we start 2019, I want to continue this fantastic road we are on and improve upon myself and my family. I want this to be the year of experiences. In saying that, I did put together a small list of goals that I would like to set for myself in the new year. What are some things you would like to accomplish in 2019?
Happy Monday, friends! I can not believe it is already October! If you are anything like me, October starts the busiest time of the year. With holidays and cooler weather, we have tons of weekend getaways planned and it will be Christmas before we know it! With a new month also comes new and exciting things for Mikaela J. I am SO excited to start participating in a Mommy Monday series with some other great mommy and style bloggers. Each month we will share some of our favorite products with you. This month I am thrilled to share one of my absolute favorite totes. This Crab & Cleek tote was my go-to all summer long and I am excited to start using it as my carry on for all of my trips this fall. It is the perfect size and can double as my diaper bag when we are out and about.
Well, summer is over and for my kiddos, that means one thing…Disney World! We are annual pass holders and my kids literally count down the days until our blackout dates are lifted so we can return to the happiest place on earth. With us living in Orlando, it was a no-brainer to purchase annual passes and we spend most of our open weekends spinning, flying and eating our way through the Disney parks.

As the summer winds down and the weather starts to cool off, one of my favorite things to do as a family is to spend more time outdoors. Summers in Florida can be pretty brutal but the fall and winter are perfect for outdoor dinners, making s’mores around the fire pit and family walks around the neighborhood. Not only do my kids love the cooler fall weather, but our favorite furry family member, Chloe, does too!
Chloe came into our lives about 11 years ago when Peter had his first dog at the vet and the appointment ahead of him was a litter of seven Basset Hound pups getting their first round of vaccinations. He knew immediately that one of those long-eared, large-pawed puppies was coming home with us. Our lives haven’t been the same since.
