Easter Weekend at The Renaissance Orlando at Seaworld

One of our absolute favorite hotels in the Orlando area is The Renaissance Orlando at Seaworld. I truly feel that it is a hidden gem in the middle of a city filled with hundreds of places to stay. We have stayed here a few times over the years and I love the experience and it is always such an amazing value. We can stay here for 3 nights for around the same price as we could for 1 night at most Disney properties. And as an added bonus, it is located directly across the street from SeaWorld!

For the second year in a row, my family and I spent Easter at The Renaissance Orlando and once again, they did not disappoint! The hotel is great any other time, but on Easter, they definitely make the holiday special!

Not only do they scatter eggs throughout the huge lobby for kiddos to find, but they also have an age-divided egg hunt that the kids love! Everyone is given a basket so the hunting is fair and there are more than enough eggs for everyone to fill their baskets with goodies.

After egg hunting, the Easter Bunny sat on the cutest bench for family photos.

The main restaurant on property is Tradewinds. On Easter Sunday, Tradewinds goes all out with an all-you-can-eat buffet filled with fresh fruit, hot items, a pancake and omelet bar, and many other delicious options. My kiddos especially loved the candy toppings for their Easter pancakes.

Easter was fantastic and we enjoyed the day so much. We filled the rest of our weekend with long pool days and fun activities. The property itself offers so much for the kids to do. Each day, there is a schedule listing all of the amenities available for kids and families.

We took advantage of almost everything and enjoyed face painting, a magic show, airbrush tattoos, arts and crafts and SO much more. The pool even has a DJ at certain times throughout the weekend that plays family-friendly music and hosts fun games. We all had so much fun!

I think the best thing about the property has to be the pool area, where we spent most of our time. In addition to 2 hot tubs, a large heated pool and a great pool bar/restaurant, the resort also has a great green space for kids to run and play and 2 awesome splash pads with slides! The kids played for hours!

All in all, we had an amazing staycation and we can not wait to go back! We love sneaking off for weekend getaways and The Renaissance Orlando at Seaworld definitely makes us feel like we are on a true vacation. We love the property so much and believe that you can’t beat it for value! If you are coming to Orlando and looking for a family-friendly, fun and convenient hotel, consider The Renaissance Orlando at Seaworld!

What is your favorite Orlando hotel? Have you ever stayed at The Renaissance at Seaworld?

10 Must-Haves to Pack for your Next Disney Cruise {Travel Tuesday}

Once my family and I decided to book a Disney Cruise, I spent countless hours researching, reading and watching everything I could to prepare for our trip.  It had been years since I had taken a cruise and now with kids, I knew I needed to plan more than ever.  Cruising with Disney was amazing and they took care of so many things, but there were definitely some items we packed that made the trip so much easier!

Now that we are back, I figured I would share the items I would recommend you pack for your next cruising adventure.  These items would obviously be awesome for any cruise/ship and are not limited to Disney, but after our last trip, I would HIGHLY recommend you book your own Disney Cruise! Literally the best family vacation, ever! We ended up packing a lot more than we needed so I think it will be super helpful to share the items that we actually did use and will definitely take on our next Disney Cruise.

We went on a Disney Cruise! {Travel Tuesday}

I am SO excited to share with you that we just got back from our first ever Disney Cruise! We originally had booked a week to Atlantis and after some recent negative reviews about the property, we did a switcharoo and booked a last minute Disney Cruise on the Magic.  It was seriously the best decision ever and I am already looking to book another one! Because we were so last minute and we planned to travel over Spring Break, our options were a bit more limited.  We ended up booking a 5-night cruise out of Miami and the only negative we had was that it wasn’t longer.  We can’t wait to book a 7-night out of Port Canaveral!

I plan on sharing ALL the things about the cruise and I will review our excursions and experiences over the next few weeks.  I did a lot of research before sailing so I will try and share as many things as possible to help any of you that might be looking to book a Disney Cruise for yourself or for your family.

Our Top 3 Family-Friendly Florida Weekend Getaways {Travel Tuesday}

For our family, 2019 is the year of experiences.  We have been through a lot the past 5 years and during those struggles, we have truly realized what is important to us.  Instead of toys or trinkets, we have decided that we want our family to get out more and explore this beautiful world we live in.  Specifically, we want to explore more of our gorgeous state of Florida.  Florida is such a huge state with some of the most breathtaking beaches, parks, springs and experiences.  We can’t wait to share with you some of our destinations and why we love them.  To get started, I have shared our top 3 Florida destinations we have already experienced as a family.  There are so many more we want to visit and I am so excited to add to this list!

30a – 30a has a special place in my heart and will always be my number 1 for family-friendly Florida destinations.  I grew up near-by in Destin, Florida and there is something about 30a that always makes me smile.  The beaches are gorgeous, the food is delicious and the small neighborhoods up and down 30a are truly magical.  I highly recommend staying at WaterColor Inn and Resort.  In addition to saying at a fantastic resort, your family can also bike to nearby Seaside for a day full of homemade ice cream, the best grilled cheese and a fun day of shopping.  WaterColor Inn and Resort is located directly on the beach and even has a kid’s club for your littles!
