5 Healthy Kid-Friendly Recipes
If you are anything like me, you are always looking for creative ways to get your kids to eat healthy. If my kids had their choice, they would literally eat macaroni and cheese every day of life. My husband and I usually cook our own meal after the kids go to bed (yay Home Chef and meal delivery services!) so I am always hunting for easy and delicious dinners for the kids. I have rounded up some of my favorites that the kids love. Comment below with some of your favorite kid-friendly meals!
Cheesy Veggie Quinoa Bites
These Cheesy Veggie Quinoa Bites from Jenny at The Melrose Family blog are a big winner in my house. These little muffins are packed with veggies, cheese and protein and are great for picky eaters. They are also super flexible and a great meal to cook when you are trying to get rid of leftover veggies or meat you have in the fridge.
Grilled Cheese & Spinach Sandwich
What kiddo doesn’t love a melty and gooey grilled cheese sandwich? This grilled cheese from Amy at Little Dairy on the Prairie is absolute perfection and is now our go-to when we want grilled cheese. We also love pairing this with a box of organic tomato soup for an added dose of veggies. In my house, we label any food that is green either “superhero” or “Christmas.” It gets the kids so excited to eat it and distracts them from the fact it is full of spinach. They love this “superhero” sandwich and it will be a hit in your home too!
Veggie Packed Pizza Rolls
Pizza! We love a good family pizza night and usually “decorate” a flatbread with yummy toppings. It is so fun getting the kids involved and they love eating their creations. Some nights when I am in a hurry or my husband and I have plans, I pre-make these pizza rolls from Super Healthy Kids and the kids love them! The sauce is filled with veggies and these are also great as leftovers or in school lunches the next day!
3-Ingredient Banana Pancakes
Breakfast for dinner is so fun and my kids always think they are getting away with something when they get pancakes before bed. These Banana Pancakes from Eugenie Kitchen are the perfect three-ingredient way to get fruit and potassium in their tummies. These pancakes can be eaten on their own without any syrup, but on special occasions, the kids love adding a bit of organic honey to mix.
Pesto Chicken Veggie Meatballs
We love adding protein to our meals and my kids love anything in ball or muffin form. These meatballs from Super Healthy Kids are full of protein and veggies and are great on their own or over some zucchini noodles or pasta. These are also great for kids parties and taste great with chicken or turkey.
All of these recipes are perfect for healthy kids meals and you will love how easily you can sneak in veggies and fruit into your favorite foods. It is always so fun to get your kids involved when you are preparing dinner and they will love helping you make their favorite foods! Enjoy and see you next time!
