Fight Hunger, Spark Change™
This post is sponsored by General Mills, but all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Giving back has always been incredibly important to me. I remember looking for volunteer organizations to become involved with, as early as I can remember. Even though I knew how important and vital giving back was, it wasn’t until something happened to me that I truly realized how life-changing it can be.
About 7 years ago, my life was completely turned upside down. In just a matter of minutes, I found out that my daughter was going to be born with a series of complex heart defects. This would lead to years of fear, multiple major surgeries and countless doctor’s appointments. It also meant that I would have to leave my job. I remember the terror and uncertainty like it was yesterday. After she was born, the medical bills came pouring in and my husband and I were so scared of how we could make things work. Multiple family members and friends helped out in so many ways and looking back, I honestly don’t know how we would have made it through without them.
Now, I spend even more time looking for ways to give back and I love companies and organizations that do the same. Hunger is such a major global issue and so many families don’t know how they will get their next meal. There are people in the United States living with hunger and Walmart and General Mills are fighting to change that.
Right now, at Walmart, for every purchase of select General Mills products, you can help secure 1 meal for your local food bank. Now, more than ever, food banks are experiencing high demand. You can help Fight Hunger, Spark Change™ by purchasing the General Mills products you already know and love. No child or family should ever have to worry about where their next meal comes from. With less hunger comes more joy and I think everyone can use a bit more joy these days!
Each eligible purchase = $.10 donation to Feeding America, up to max of: $950,000. See Walmart.com/FightHunger for more information. Products will be available starting 4/13.
