LEGOLAND Review {There is more to Orlando than Disney World}

I had heard so many wonderful things about LEGOLAND in Orlando and being an Orlando local, I knew I wanted to get the kids there as soon as we had the chance. Once we found a free weekend to go, we packed up for the day and headed to what would be our new favorite theme park experience in the area!

LEGOLAND Florida is located in Winter Haven, only about 45 minutes from the Orlando theme parks or downtown Tampa. Even though LEGOLAND is a bit of a drive from the theme parks, they have 2 (soon to be 3) amazing hotels on site. The hotels offer everything from nightly entertainment to sessions with a real LEGO Master Builder! I recommend spending a night or two on-property so that you can fully enjoy the waterpark and the park during your stay!

I want to preface this review with my kiddo’s ages. At the time of our visit, Hayes was 4-years-old and Brayden was 6-years-old. I say this because I think this age range was absolutely PERFECT for this park! Both kids could ride almost all of the rides and they both had an absolute blast running around and exploring all of what LEGOLAND had to offer! Here is a link to all of the different rides and height requirements at the Florida park.

We spent the first half of the day riding as many rides as we could. I am not sure if it was the time of the year (winter) or just the day (Sunday), but the lines were very short and we never waited longer than 10 minutes to get on. This made the day so much more enjoyable because we spent far more time enjoying the rides rather than waiting in long lines. Some of our favorite rides were The Dragon roller coaster, the Flying School roller coaster and the Masters of Flight.

After riding almost every ride in the park, we took a lunch break and ordered a few pressed paninis from the Panini Grill. It was the perfect lunch spot because the kids could play in the Imagination Zone while we were waiting for our lunch. There were thousands of LEGO bricks at their disposal to design and build to their heart’s content.

After lunch we went back to the rides we missed during our morning session and re-rode some of our favorites. Even if your little ones aren’t fans of roller coasters, there are a lot of age-appropriate rides and activities that will keep them entertained all day! My kiddos also loved the carnival-style games set up throughout the park. All of the staff members were extremely helpful and polite and definitely added to our awesome experience.

One of the amazingly unique things about LEGOLAND are the millions of LEGOS seen around the park. Their Master LEGO builders are so incredibly talented and it was so fun to check out all of the fun creations. My little guy could have spent hours watching the moving cars and lights in Miniland USA.

All in all, we had the most AWESOME day at LEGOLAND and we can’t wait to go back! As I mentioned, we visited in the winter months, so we were unable to take advantage of the waterpark. I definitely want to return when the waterpark is open, so if that is something you would like to incorporate into your trip, make sure to confirm that the park is open during your visit.
