sharpie coffee mug {diy}
I am sure, just like myself, most of you have seen all of the Pinterest posts for DIY Sharpie coffee mugs {follow me on pinterest!!}. Over the years I have pinned a ton and after picking up a white mug the other day, I was finally ready to give this DIY a try. It came out super cute and I think this project has a ton of potential for holiday gifts. How cute would it be to personalize coffee mugs for your friends and fill them with homemade goodies?
DIY Sharpie Coffee Mug
* white coffee mug (the cheapest you can find – the cheaper the quality, the better this works)
* cleaning alcohol
* cotton ball
* Sharpie (I used a gold Sharpie and after it was baked, it looked a little dull but I actually liked the color – but just a heads up!)
1. Clean the coffee mug with the cotton ball and alcohol. Let dry and try not to touch too much.
2. Decorate!
3. Let mug sit for 24 hours.
4. Put mug in a cold oven. Preheat to 425 degrees and set the timer for 30 minutes. After the timer has gone off, turn off the oven and let the mug cool completely in the oven.
5. Let mug sit for 24 hours before washing.
6. Enjoy!
* I would recommend hand washing – I have only washed a couple of times (once in the dishwasher) and so far so good!
