Household Tools that will Save you Time!
Some days it seems like there are just not enough hours for me to get everything done. Between meetings, appointments, play dates, and school, I’m constantly chauffeuring my kids from place to place. Add in work, maintaining the house, and my own personal obligations and there’s barely enough “me time” leftover to relax.
You can’t buy time, but over the years I’ve found some products that come pretty close! Time I’m not spending mopping the floors or slaving over dinner is quality time I can spend with my family. So here I give you the gift of time, by sharing some of my favorite products that lessen the workload around the house. I think you’ll thank me!
Roomba
I’m sure that many of you are familiar with the Roomba. If not, it’s a self-operating vacuum that will completely change your life. With the push of a button the Roomba will vacuum an entire floor with absolutely no effort. You can even program it to run when you’re not home so you can return to a freshly vacuumed house. If you have pets that shed, the Roomba is a total game changer. While there are a number of models, you can get your own personal sweeping service for as little as $250. A bit of an investment, you’ll save hours vacuuming; you can use that extra time to be a little extra messy with the kiddos. I have the Roomba and run it every day at least once! It has been a complete game changer for me and I cannot recommend it enough!
iRobot Auto-Mop
If you don’t like vacuuming, you’re likely not a fan of mopping either. Similar to the Roomba, the iRobot Braava Jet is a self-operating mop that will save you a ton of time. Small enough to get in and around all of your home’s nooks and crannies, this product will keep working until your floors are spotless.
Pressure Cooker
Don’t get me wrong, cooking can be so much fun; however there are some days when, after all the running around, the last thing you want to do is stand over a hot stove. A pressure cooker uses steam and, you guessed it, pressure to cook food extremely fast. It can cook your dinner 70% faster than using a stove or oven, whipping up single pot meals in the time it takes you to set the table. Not only is a pressure cooker a huge time saver, it also allows food to keep more of their original nutrients, and requires significantly less clean up. With many options under $50, a pressure cooker is an inexpensive way to save time, energy, and still whip up healthy meals for your family; a total winner! My pressure cooker has allowed me to make my favorite recipes in a fraction of the time and I can’t wait to share some of my favorites with you!
Toilet Self-Cleaner
No one — and I mean NO ONE — likes to clean the toilet. In less time than it would take for one cleaning, you can install a ChemFree Toilet Cleaner which will keep your toilet free of stains and mineral build-up for over 5,000 flushes. This being a chemical-free product, there is no risk of exposing your little ones to harsh chemicals. At under $10 per cartridge, you’ll save yourself a lot of scrubbing.
Wrinkle Releaser
Ironing! The bane of my existence! While I’m still waiting for a self-ironing iron, this wrinkle releaser spray is the next best thing. Instead of setting up the ironing board or breaking out the steamer, you literally just spay your garment and then let it hang while you finish getting ready. Not only does this save a ton of time at home, but it’s great for vacation when you’re clothes get crumpled from packing. At under $15 per bottle, you’ll get several months worth ironing out of the way in just seconds.
iRobot Gutter Cleaner
Would you believe me when I tell you that cleaning your gutters can be a thing of the past? While cleaning your gutters isn’t an everyday occurance, when the time comes to remove leaves and debris it can be a laborious and dangerous affair. This gutter cleaner will get the job done while you’re outside playing with the kids.
Anytime that you can reduce the effort put into chores and household maintenance is time that can be better spent with your family, or on yourself. We can’t all afford maids and gardeners, but investing in some of these products will give you the time you need to focus on more important things!
